So as someone who rushed to Electronics Boutique the day this game was originally released to buy my copy, and being a big fan of the original, in spite of it's many flaws, I have found myself absolutely loving having the opportunity to replay an enhanced version of the game. I'm through to spring stadium at the minute, and really enjoying it (though missing the Saturn version's special stages tbf), and whilst some of the original MD version's issues are still there, I appreciate the tweeks with regards to when you drop flickies. Can i suggest one possible amendment to make though? Could you implement the gold shield's homing attack as a standard attack as sonic without a shield? This would speed up play immeasureably. In addition, to make platforming sections easier to handle, maybe some form of stomp where you stop on the spot as is in the newer modern versions of Sonic? The spindash could also be improved, as currently, you have to be at a standstill to start it. I realise this is to mimic the original sonic games, but in these, you could stop sonic without him rolling into a spin attack every time. If it could be mapped so that sonic stops and moves into spindash mode (like in generations), this would also massively improve the speed and flow of the game. I love the save feature- means I won't have to sit and rush through tonight. I will return with more feedback as I play through over the next couple of nights - my 34 year old self has responsibilties to take care of so an hour here or there is the most I'll get in a day! Most of all though, thank you. Thank you for actually caring about our childhood, and this massively under-rated gem that Sega themselves seem to care less and less about... Wrong sub-forum, but a nice heartfelt message.
