Does this program solve the issue of converting images to the ROM?: http://devster.monkeeh.com/sega/imagenesis/#intro
Saying this because I saw some cool super transformation sprites on Twitter...

I've actually found an even better compressor/decompressor over at https://github.com/temisu/ancient_format_decompressor
I've confirmed that this works with Sonic R (Saturn)'s data files, so if 3D Blast use the same compression that should work too.

Hey this is really awesome... I hope Jon takes notice!
I feel like the DX could use a good sprite refresh, particularly the skidding sprite and a proper running animation. I remember playing 3D Blast back when it came out when I was a lil kid and feeling like Sonic couldn't ever get up to speed simply because his animation didn't progress into a full-fledged "circular feet" running animation like in his other Genesis outings.

Actually, after digging through that site a bit more the graphics and stuff seems to use Rob Northern Compression (http://segaretro.org/Rob_Northen_compression). It appears there's a compressor at http://www.yoda.arachsys.com/dk/utils.html

He might have better luck with the compressors at https://info.sonicretro.org/Sonic_Hacking_Utilities#Compressors.2FDecompressors. They support a lot of old Genesis formats, athough I'm not sure what 3D Blast uses.
