So in this video, Jon demonstrated how he could display multiple colors on the Sega Genesis using a technique that took advantage of how the Genesis displayed graphics. Since he expressed how he wanted to using this technique for Sonic 3D, how bout he uses it for the director’s cut? If we’re really going into detail here, he could possibly include the whole Saturn intro using this method. Idk, maybe this is too crazy of an idea, but what do you guys think?

It would probably be easier to just swap the files loaded by the existing intro. Plus that would work on emulators.
Its also been stated previously that this technique does not work well with the majority of emulators and is best processed on actual hardware due to differences in accuracy between emulators.
Pretty sure Jon said the DX update was meant to be a patch used with emulators. Plus, the lengthy setup would probably take longer than the cutscene itself.

I think the main problem aside from cartridge space would probably be streaming all the frames from the cartridge to the graphics memory.
