Spin Attack Toy Story 2 vs Leander?

In Leander one of the sword upgrades chanes your special attack to a tornado-esk spin attack. This move looks and feels a lot like Buzz’s charged spin attack in Toy Story 2. Did Leander inspire this design choice?
