South Floridian (It's ok get your flori-DUH jokes out of your system). First computer was Commodore Vic-20, and launched into gaming euphoria in the world of MS-DOS. I have a passion for old games, and have been working on a long time project to preserve the Modding history of Star Wars: Dark Forces.
I cam across gamehut via youtube's wheel of recommendation randomness. Learning about older games has a lot of hearsay and un-sourced "quotes", and it was amazing to find a primary source on developing games in the 16bit era. Been an avid watcher ever since.

I do Sonic ROM hacks in my free time (like CrazySonic and The Radikal Ralakimus Hack Pack, so rip me) and people from the Sonic hacking community started talking about Jon's channel, so that's how I found this. It's really cool for him to show off prototypes and how he did certain effects (I've even attempted to do them myself, though, I've only had success with the Sonic 3D Blast SEGA logo trick with the palette cycling).

I found the GameHut channel when a video about the how the Sonic 3D blast intro was compressed to fit on a SEGA Genesis cartridge showed up in the suggested videos bar. I spent the rest of the night watching all the videos on the channel.
I am really grateful that an experienced game developer like Jon is dedicating some of his time to telling the world how things were done on the Genesis. Even if we don't have to develop for such restricted hardware anymore it's always great to learn new techniques for optimization.

Been a fan of the GameHut for a while, and recently got a bit more invested in it. I am an artist, both traditionally and digitally. Also a pixel artist. I work with the genesis/megadrive pallette often. I have kind of an obsession with trying to push such a system to do amazing/impossible things should i ever get a hold of the hardware or can get a hold of someone working with it to see where it can go. Hence why I am a fan of GameHut.

I'm quite the enthusiast in retro gaming, and their development cycle. so i was searching up various game demos, (some examples being sonic 3, knuckles chaotix, super mario world, ETC) When i stumbled upon a video of sonic R, the v0.3 one onn GameHut. I check it out and Lo and behold, Decent youtube content from someone who worked in the industry for years. I find it to be quite a brilliant channel.
Keep up the good work everyone!

Found this channel while searching for sonic r stuff.
Not much of an introduction, but currently at University studying Digital Media Production.
Did Media: Games Development & Software Development in college... Which was interesting to say the least!
Been following Gamehut basically from conception (around 2 months ago or so?) after stumbling upon a video looking for info on Sonic R.
Obviously I subbed and just as well really! I always knew that TT were good back in the day, but holy hell, they were programming gods of the era - especially when you take the Mega Drive into primary consideration!
So that peaked my interest.

I've always been kind of a nerd when it comes to prototypes, developpement, unused content and have been lurking on The Cutting Room Floor since a while even if I'm too much of an idiot to look for things myself, so seeing technical stuff about old Sonic games at random on Youtube really caught my interest. I started following the channel around the time where the video about one of the "later" Sonic R prototypes were uploaded and my interest didn't waver.

15, in Illinois, and the Gamecube was my first console. My dad then gave me his SNES, and my mom gave me her Genesis. I'm actually really into the Need For Speed series (mostly the older titles) but recently I've really been getting back into Sonic. My first experience with Sonic was Sonic 1, back in 2007, then the same day I tried Sonic 2. I left all three of those consoles to gather dust since around 2012, but I recently I hooked them back up and they still work like new. (my SNES has barely yellowed!) I found GameHut when the 0.3 footage of Sonic R was released, and have been following the channel ever since. (EDIT) also I still have yet to get a hold of the cartridges for Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

I haven't used a forum in ages, but I have loved this channel and love this website (it looks great as I would expect at this point) but I felt like joining this one just because I think this is a really cool little community and I wanna hang around haha! It's particularly been so cool to see the original creator of a classic game come back to do what is basically an official update, or as close to one as you can get! Dunno how active I'll be at posting but I'll for sure be looking around!

28, from the US. Genesis was my first system that I owned. (Got it for my 6th birthday!) And spent a lot of time playing Sonic growing up since it came with Sonic 2. Spent a fair amount of my childhood collecting every one of the blue blur's adventures and beating them (to the best of my child self's abilities as this took quite a bit of practice to get down). Found this channel while going through YouTube looking for information on Sonic 3 & Knuckles Complete Edition and various other modifications for Sonic 3 & Knuckles as it is my favorite entry in the classic series.

38, From NZ, now in Australia. Grew up with the Master System, later got the Megadrive and loved tinkering with the Game Genie to screw up games and discover secrets and other left over programming oddities. Collect, play games a reasonable amount and enjoy the editors and screwing around with levels and game mechanics. I've got practically every cartridge system, numerous clones and applicable flash carts, the original cart collection is stored in NZ.
