Hi, I'm following the tutorials for creating a megadrive game. I'm getting the hang of how assembly works, but I'm wondering if there is a good program to use to generate the sprite graphics and convert them into the hex values used in code. I can fiddle with the code directly and change the sprites but there must be a better way. I've looked into aseprite, spriter and Piskel but I have not got the 16-bit output that I want. Thanks in advance and I'm looking forward to more tutorials.

If you look it up the GenTile tool is pretty helpful! Or there was another, bitmap to tile I believe? That ones pretty easy to use have a go at those! And may I ask what tutorial your following? Ive gotten pretty far in my understanding but any examples are great :s
